I am however still working my weight loss program - Weight Watchers. I only have another 25 pounds to make my goal and as everyone knows, the last 25 pounds is the hardest to lose. Trying to hit the gym at least 5 days a week. Not always succesful but working toward that goal. Still sticking to the program because I know it works. How many have started something and then not stuck with it and ended up feeling like a failure. I am in this for the long-term. So far besides losing weight, my health has improved. Of some medications and lowered others. Healthy is a non-scale victory. Stay with your project/goal. It is worth it in the long term----health.
souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/46808242017-04-21T16:41:32-07:002017-04-21T16:41:32-07:00Starting a New ChapterFinally the work paid off. I'm losing almost every week and have been encouraged. Now to get back to exercise and things should really be on the run (pun intended) Hope everyone out there that is struggling with their weight keeps working at losing it. We need to be healthy for our family and our friends and for our health. I personally have been taken off some medications and lowered some since I've been watching what I eat and trying to keep with the range of calorie/points I have been assigned. Sometimes it's very hard, especially when there is ice cream or chips or candy or ..... whatever your weakness is. One thing I learned at Weight Watchers is never let food win. If you mess up and eat too much or eat the wrong thing, don't let that determine the rest of your day or week. Just get back on track to what you know you should be doing. Stay encouraged!! It can be done. Be strong and keep your goal in sight. Use whatever motivation you need - a new outfit that is too small, an old picture showing where you want to be, etc. In the end it will be worth it. souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/41952222016-05-24T16:06:01-07:002016-05-24T16:06:01-07:00Up and DownStill a roller coaster ride, but I have not given up. I am still working to lose the rest of the weight I need to lose. Trying to still incorporate the exercise on a continuous basis but seems like life gets in the way. I need to start telling people that I can't do anything for anybody until after my exercise time. I need to get firm and get this done. souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/41495862016-04-22T13:11:12-07:002016-04-22T13:11:12-07:00Still working the programHaven't posted in a long time but I am still on my journey. I hit a plateau but I am working to find out why. Sometimes it's medication, sometimes it's needing more movement, and sometimes it's just what you are eating. I am still researching the reason for my stand still. I am NOT giving up. I WILL reach my goal. It may take a little longer than I anticipated, but I WILL GET THERE. If you are on a weight loss journey, just remember -- NEVER GIVE UP. See the future an what YOU WILL BE.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/38558182015-09-15T10:15:20-07:002016-05-24T16:07:53-07:00Getting Back on Track When Stress Tries to Bring You DownOne thing I have found is that stress can mess with your plan. This last month has been very stressful and I didn't feel like thinking about what I ate. Even though I felt this way, I decided to still try to stay as close to the plan as possible. And that type of thinking works. After missing two meetings, I went in thinking I had gained weight. Boy, was I surprised. I lost 1.5 pounds. I was surprised but happy. It goes to show even when you don't feel like it and even if you stray a bit and lose a "battle", get back on the right tract and you can still win the "war". Don't be discouraged when things seems to go awry. Pick yourself up and get going again. Never look back at your failures, always look toward your goal and winning the prize.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/38322982015-08-25T12:05:19-07:002015-08-25T12:05:19-07:00Still fighting the battleI seems to be stuck at the weight I've been at for quite some time. I have NOT however given up. I know what I need to do and I'm praying God's help to accomplish my goal. I am continuing to work my Weight Watchers program and go to the weekly meetings for encouragement. What I need to do (and I know it) is to get out there and exercise. I really hate to exercise, but I am praying about that also. If it's just walking, I need to find the time because when I do my "errand days" I seem to be able to meet my walking goal. Stay tuned because I KNOW I WILL MAKE IT WITH GOD'S HELP. It has been more difficult since I have not been working. But I know if I work at it, it will happen.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/37001072015-05-08T18:23:22-07:002015-05-08T18:23:22-07:00finally lostI finally lost 2.2 pounds. Looking forward to losing more as the weeks go by. I have started walking, so that definitely helps. I did a 5K on last Saturday with some other weight watcher members. We had a lot of fun walking the park to make our distance. Got my 5K charm from weight watchers also to add to my charm collection. I am positive that this weight will continue to come off as I work towards my goal. I am continuing to walk and will soon start going back to the gym. As my weight watcher leader used to always say "Hope to see less of you next week." I love that saying. it is actually positive since we are all looking to weigh less next week. So my message now to all of you is "Hope to see less of you soon".souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/36813312015-04-28T16:18:32-07:002015-04-28T16:18:32-07:00Never too lateSorry I haven't posted in so long. I guess I was a little disappointed that I am kind of stuck at this weight. I've been working the program (probably not as well as I should) but haven't really lost any weight. I have gained 1-2 pounds, then lost it, then gained it back, then lost it over and over again. I finally have started being consistent in my exercising but no change yet. I am continuing on my journey to reach my goal. I will never give up. I may need to change things around a bit but I WILL GET THERE. I have confident of that fact. If you have been trying to lose weight and are working the program ----- continue to work the program. You may get frustrated, maybe even a little angry, but DO NOT GIVE UP. It is worth the struggle. Keep walking toward the goal if you can't run - but run if you can. JUST DON"T GIVE UP. souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/27477882014-03-14T11:17:12-07:002014-03-14T11:17:12-07:00Still working the programI am still having my ups and downs - literally. Staying about the same weight wise, but still working the program. I need to seriously get some exercise into my program. I know that is what the problem is. I am away from home 11 1/2 hours a day but that is no excuse not to get in at least 1/2 hour of exercise. I am now reprimanding myself to get busy and DO IT! I am following the program food wise but the exercise now is the key to finishing the project I have started. We just starting a Exercise Club at my Weight Watcher's meeting and I am now accountable to someone to at least get some walking in every day. I am jazzed that I can get this program working for me. I am going to force myself, no matter how tired I am, to walk as soon as I get home before doing anything else. I know this is the problem and yet we all love to relax after a hard day at work. I need to get and stay focused on the goal. I need to lose 45 more pounds to reach my goal. I have already lost 55 pounds, but that seems to be where I am stuck. Been stuck here for over 6 months and getting tired of it. I NEED TO GET MY EXERCISE ON!!! Be letting you know how I'm doing.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/23196612014-01-02T14:58:50-08:002014-01-02T15:01:26-08:00STAYING ON TOP OF ITGoing to my meeting this evening. The holidays really messed me up. Too many temptations and I pretty much failed. Hoping I didn't mess up too badly. :( I'm working at getting my exercise in and walking as soon as I get home from work before doing anything else. Vacations, Holidays and weekends usually mess that up, but I need to continue on. I need to pretend I just came home from work and get out there and walk at the same time I would normally during the week. Losing weight is a difficult process some times, but we need to keep working the program and we will reach success.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/22800372013-12-23T15:38:47-08:002013-12-23T15:38:47-08:00Busy, but not forgottenI have been so busy, but I apologize for not posting in so long. Still was on my roller-coaster trip up until two weeks ago. I finally lost 2 weeks in a row 0 1.2 pounds per week. Pretty awesome. I'm sure it has to do with the fact that we started walking every night when I get home from work. I'm still trying to get more exercise in even though it's hard with working (and being away from home travel time) for almost 12 hours a day. Still trying to fit some exercise in at lunch time at work. I know that will help. Made it through Thanksgiving with not too much trouble. We feed the homeless so fortunately for me we had no leftovers to speak of. We make 2 meals each for us for the holiday and the next day making sure the portions are correct. That makes it so much easier than guessing. Well, closing for now....trying to get caught up on other things as well as the blog with the days off I have right now. May God Bless your Christmas and coming new year, Will post again sooner.........promise.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/13737112013-08-09T20:37:15-07:002013-08-09T20:37:15-07:00Better late than never!!!Still going through my ups and downs. Fluctuating around the 60 pound lost mark. My work schedule is a 12 hour day with 2-3 hours on the road every day. Thanks to my weight watchers meeting last night, we figured out a way to get at least some exercise in during the day . I started today. I have about 10 minutes after eating lunch, so I started walking around our building at work. It really felt good. Going to try to get in another 10-15 minute walk after I get home. At least it's a start. I really appreciate all the encouragement and ideas I get at my meetings. Our leader is very good at encouraging us and coming up with helpful ideas. Thanks to all the members that come too. Between all of us, we encourage, help, and stand up for each other. I love weight watchers.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/9022762013-06-08T07:14:53-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00Need To Get Back On TrackWell, after being sick for 3 weeks and having to follow the "Montezuma's Revenge" diet, I gained 3 lbs. Now that I'm feeling better and don't have to restrict to that diet, I am back on my Weight Watcher's program and getting it going again. Need to put the exercise back in also. Could not leave the house except to go to the doctor which basically put a stop to exercising. Getting the program going again and getting back on "TRACK". Looking forward to losing it all again and getting down to my goal. Still need to lose but we're on the right track and looking forward to the goal line.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/8768412013-06-04T09:29:02-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00I have been neglectful. Sorry!I have been fighting a battle since my last post. UP and DOWN, UP and DOWN, staying the same, etc, etc. My highest loss in weight was 68.4 lbs. and currently at last weigh in was 61.4 lbs. Still working the program. Need to figure out how to get the exercise in more because I get up at 4am and get home at 4:15 pm. That doesn't leave much time for exercise BUT I need to get it in. We all go through times when things get rough and we don't think we can do it. I've been fighting illness for the last 3 weeks but still trying to work the program as best I can. Tomorrow or Thursday I will do my next weigh in and get it back together. Praying that God will help me work out the time and a program to get the exercise program going again. I know that will turn the tide so I need to get it done. I spend 2 to 2 1/2 hours on the road to work and back every day Monday through Friday. I wish there was a way to get that much time to exercise. Would be very helpful if I could. So until next post, KEEP WORKING THE PROGRAM AND THE PROGRAM WILL WORK!!!souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/3286252013-02-25T12:28:30-08:002013-02-25T12:28:30-08:00STILL WORKING ITGained a couple pounds again last week. Really have to realize that I CANNOT use the weekly points allocated on this program without putting in a lot of exercise time. My schedule right now is not allowing that extra workout time so results are showing up on the scale. It seems like a very busy schedule makes you hungrier than other times. I just need to buckle down and get with it.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/3050032013-02-09T11:56:38-08:002013-02-09T11:56:38-08:00"PIGGING OUT" IS NOT A GOOD THING
Well, this last week I "pigged out" and used some of my weekly points and not just my daily allowance. Still within the plan, but as for me - I know better. If I use the weekly points, I almost always add a little weight. If I stay within my daily allowance and DON'T use my weekly allowance, I can lose. So we're still going through the ups and downs. I need to just buckle down and stop using the weekly points like I have in the past and get back on the losing side. So what it really comes down to for me is that if I want to use my weekly allowance, I need to exercise more to counteract the extra points. Most of the time it is not worth it to me to have to do the extra workout when I can just eat some more "no point" foods instead.

I did really good during the holidays and stayed on plan and stayed losing. Just too much temptation this last week, I guess. Need to stay focused on what my goal is and quit getting detoured. The cookie was really not worth it. But it did taste good, I have to admit. But what I need to look at is was it worth using 5 points of my daily allowance of 26? It really wasn't if I seriously think about it. That is what I need to do. Seriously think about it before I eat it.

Being really busy right now probably doesn't help but I need to really take the time to get organized again. Start prepacking lunch and snacks so I don't get in a hurry and take too much. Every extra gram counts. I used to sit at lunch on Monday and get the whole week organized. Not doing that now and that is probably the problem. Need to get back in the routine so it will go better for me. Need to get back to the gym also instead of just walking. Need to get that exercise in so results will be better.

So til next time - Keep looking for the good and keep looking forward to the goal.

souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2836162013-01-18T03:15:00-08:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00UPS AND DOWNS, BUT STILL GOING
Well, Christmas came and went and so did New Year's. 2013 is here and I'm still working the plan. We have had a lot of people join my meeting night since January 1st.

December 20th was my last weigh in day before my last blog and at that point in time I had lost a total of 66.6 pounds since July 2011. Weight Watchers tells us that as long as we lose 1/2 to 2 pounds a week, we are doing good. This gives your body a chance for the skin to shrink while it is shrinking. And of course, exercise helps to tighten it up also.

Anyway I had a family meeting so I missed December 27 weigh in but the next week (January 3) I lost another pound. That is pretty exciting to lose1/2 pound per week during the holidays and is really considered good. Since then the next week I gained, but last night lost it back plus some. My total weight lose now is 68.4 pounds.

I have really been trying to follow the plan becasue if you don't, you will surely fail. And I don't plan on failing. I have come too far to go back now. I have 31.6 pounds more to go to reach my goal of 100 pounds lost. And I don't plan on finding them again. My plan is to stay on plan and going into my retirement years to be fit and skinny and stay that way.

So for all of you out there looking to lose weight, just remember - YOU CAN DO IT!!

And as my last leader used to tell us: Kiss last week good-bye and start again on the right track.

I plan on taking some new pictures soon so everyone can see the before and after difference so far.
souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2706422012-12-23T09:00:00-08:002012-12-23T09:00:00-08:00Christmas Update
Sorry that it's been a month since I posted. I've been on and up and down cycle of loss and gain. Been busy on home computer projects so I haven't been exercising like I was and like I should. My journey for the last month is: 11/24 lost total 67.6 lbs, 11/29 gained .4 lbs, 12/8 lost 1.2 lb, 12/15 gained 1.6 lbs, 12/20 gained .2 lbs. Mostly an upward cycle which means the exercise was really helping. Also found out during this time that I cannot use any of my activity points or extra weekly points without doing EXTRA exercise. I always seem to gain if I use anything but the daily allowance of points even with exercising. I have lost a total now of 66.6 lbs. I want to reach 100 pounds lost and I will continue to work at it until I get it accomplished. I saw some people today that hadn't seen me in several months and boy were they surprised at how much thinner I look. I was very proud of the success I have had thus far, but I am not finished. I will stay the course, and cross the finish line of my goal with great joy. Will try to post some up-to-date pictures so you can actually see the success I have had with my weight loss journey.
souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2562792012-11-24T02:05:00-08:002012-11-24T02:05:00-08:00WORKING TOWARD MY GOAL!!Sorry I have been neglectful of my blog. Seems like we get so busy some time that time slips away without us realizing how long it's been since we connected. Since my last post I have been continuing to follow the program weight watchers gives us. Following is my progress since my last post: 10/25 gained 1.8 pounds, 11-1 lost 1 pound, 11/8 lost .8 pounds, 11/15 lost 1.6 pounds, and today lost .8 pounds. Not too bad considering it is the holidays. Keeping on track with what I eat and trying not to overdue with all the goodies available this time the of year. The key is to set you plate with what you KNOW you should be eating, not what you want to eat. Today at our meeting one of the members said she had slipped and not attended meetings for two weeks because she knew she had blown it. She got back on track and was there today because she got a post card from Weight Watchers which said "Don't give up what you really want the most for what you want right now"! What a statement. That is exactly what we need to remember during this holiday season. Eat the good stuff, but eat in moderation. Don't overdue it. Get a smaller amount so you don't feel like you are missing out on the "GOOD STUFF".

Just remember to count everything you eat, and give up what you know is NOT WORTH IT!! Get GOOD snacks to replace the cheese and crackers, and chips and dips. Substitute veggie and fruit trays and lower calorie items. Be prepared for parties by eating something before you go so you aren't hungry and tempted by all the appetizers that might be there. To make it appear you are having a good time, substitute your "drink" for some diet 7up mixed with a little cranberry juice - or - crystal light has a lot of non-alcohohlic drinks so you get the flavor without the calories. Think before you drink. Alcohol has a lot of calories. As for me, I'd rather have a small piece of pie than a drink. I would enjoy that a lot more. But if you really want a glass of wine or drink, remember to count the cost.

Today we did a typical thanksgiving day snack and meal. I am allowed 26 points on the program. A typical snack and meal including cheese & crackers, melba toast and guacamole, turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, glass of wine and pecan pie was 84 points. That's 3 1/2 days allowance. OUCH!!! No wonder the holidays are when we usually gain weight.

I'm weighing and/or measuring everything I put in my mouth. I even ate some M&M Cookies the other day. Boy were they good. Counted them in my daily total but it was really a nice treat.

Getting my exercise in. Some days better than others but evrey bit of exercise helps. Getting some during lunch at work and then walking when I get home. Going to start the stomach exercise this week.

Anyway back to the progress part - I have now lost a total of 67.6 pounds and counting. Looking forward to reaching my goal. Another 32.8 pounds to go. It's been a journey but I am looking forward to reaching my goal. NEVER GIVE UP!!souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2357362012-10-18T12:55:06-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00I MADE IT, WHOO HOO!!!Checked in at my weight watchers meeting and lost 1.4 pounds. My total weight loss now is 65.4 lbs AND COUNTING. Looking forward to the new and skinnier me. Back on track. Hopefully this will keep up and I won't go back to losing only .2 pounds. But even then I kept hanging in there and continuing to work the program. That is always the key. DON'T GIVE UP!!! Things may not look like they are progressing, but even though the weight loss seems slow, inches still count. Sometimes you will lose inches even though the weight loss is not as much. Keep working the program and the program will work. WOW~~~65 pounds. Like our leader tonight said - that's a 50 pound bag of potatoes and three 5 pound bags of sugar. Anyone out there can do this if you just set you mind to it. You need to be goal focused and you will make it. Don't let people discourage you or influence you to do what you know you shouldn't do - like eating the wrong things. Fast Food especially is not good. The majority of it is all HIGH CALORIE food. Try to keep as far away from it as you can. The more you cook your own food and be careful what you do eat out, the better you will do on the program. So, on that note, we'll talk to again soon. Be encouraged!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2276262012-10-07T02:55:00-07:002012-10-07T02:55:00-07:0063 pounds and countingWell, I think I figured out what I was doing wrong. I was "guessing" on my portions at work because my scale started doing weird things and not holding at zero so I could weigh my food. This last week I weighed everything on my scale at home, put it in baggies, and took it to work already ready to eat. I weigh my cereal, snack nuts, and pretzels. Everything else I eat at work is already prepacked or doesn't count (lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, apples). I still am going to the gym at least 3 times a week and trying for 4. All together these changes added up to a 3.4 pound loss last week. I am back to 63.6 pounds lost (and not looking to find them). I am continuing on my journey to lose 100 pounds by February so my goal has to be at least 2.5 pounds per week. Hopefully I can do this. If not, I am going to make a gallant effort to do so.

Several people have asked what I eat for my meals. Breakfast is 27 grams of cheerios (2 pts), eggwhites or eggbeaters (1 pt.), and yogurt (2 pts). Lunch is lettuce, tomato, and cucumber - all zero points plus prepackaged deli meat (2 pts) and pretzels (2 pts). Both my morning and afternoon snacks are an apple and almonds (1 pt). My dinner usually consists of chicken or fish (4 pts), rice or potato (4 pts) and vegetable (0 pts). That leaves me with my evening snack of popcorn (3 pts) or skinny cow ice crea (3-4 points). My total points for the day to use are 26. I have not been going over this point total except for special occasions and even then I stay within the alloted weekly points or use my activity points. I am an active member of Weight Watchers and what I like is that I don't count calories because they have a point system. and it's easier to add 2+2+3 rather than 104+325+450.

So, my friends, this is what I have been doing since June 2011. Getting in shape and trying to look good and be healthy when I retire. Already I've had to lower my cholesterol medicine and looking forward to lowering or stopping more. Health is an important part of our lives and that is what I am working toward. Feel free to comment on my blog. All comments are appreciated. Until next time, God be with you and help you through any and all trials you may be facing.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2224442012-09-30T04:00:00-07:002012-09-30T04:00:00-07:00Still following the programLast week I gained a few pounds. I figured out why. Even though I'm exercising more, my scale at work quit working so I started "guessing" at what I was eating. After checking out my scale at home, I figured out I was eating too much. So I weighed all the things I need to weight for work, bagged them up and this week I will be back on track. So with that and more exercise, things should start moving down again toward my goal weight. I still want to make my 100 pound weight loss goal by February 2013. I have about 34 pounds now to lose to make that goal and 4 months to accomplish it. that works out to about 2 lbs a week. I think if I really try, I can do that. I really need to get focused so I can make it. I will keep you all updated as I keep working the program.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2186512012-09-23T03:53:11-07:002012-09-23T03:53:11-07:00Ups and DownsI'vew been having my ups and downs the last couple months. Only losing 1/5 pound each week or gaining 1/4 pound. I think I hit a plateau so I'm hitting the gym. Working it at least 3 times a week even with my busy schedule at work and home. Got to make it happen. And no matter how hard it is getting up at 4am and starting work at 6am then getting home at 4:30pm. Still trying to find the time to hit the gym those 3 times (or 4) per week. I can't wait til the weather cools down so I can start walking. Since I am allergic to sun poisoning, I need to COVER UP with long sleeves and a big brim hat in order to walk during daylight hours. Right now it's rather hot to be doing that - so COOL WEATHER, COME ON!! In the meantime I'm trying to get my walks in at work before it gets too hot. The last few weeks my weight has gone from -3.8 pounds to +1.8 pounds to -1.6 pounds to +1.4 for a total weight loss so far of 62.4 pounds. Still working the program is the key. Keep faithful and work it and the results will happen. Plus losing slow is better because your skin has a chance to shrink with the weight loss instead of just "hanging" there. Been getting a lot of compliments lately on how well I look and younger. Keep the compliments coming - they are a great encouragement to keep going. I am truly looking forward to my final goal of 100 pounds lost and I mean LOST. I don't ever want to find them again.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/2161922012-09-18T07:05:00-07:002012-09-18T07:05:00-07:00Time flies Sorry I haven't posted lately. Time really flies by without you knowing sometimes. I've been having my ups and downs, but I am still working at my weight loss. I am now at 160 pounds. I have 36 pounds to go to reach my goal. I hope to reach it by February. I'm still trying to get more exercise in because I know the more I exercise, the faster I will lose weight. It's all a mindset. Just have to set your mind to do it and make the time, even if you think you don't have time. souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1921842012-07-22T12:30:00-07:002012-07-22T12:30:00-07:00catching up again
Sorry I missed a week. I gained .2 lbs on 7/12 and felt a little discouraged. Last week on 7/19 I lost .4 lbs so I felt a little better. I'm sticking to the plan but I think because I'm not exercising enough, my body is telling me to start moving it. Need to find something that can be done quickly and get good results because with my work schedule I don't have a lot of time. I get up at 4am to arrive at the van pool pickup by 5am. Drive 50 minutes to work to start at 6am. Leave work at 4:30 (because of the vanpool) and get home around 6pm when it's already time for me to eat. Need to be in bed early for my 4am wake up call. In order to get 8 hours sleep I need to go to bed by 8PM. That doesn't give me a lot of time during the week. Need to really figure something out. Anybody have any ideas??? Let me know. I NEED HELP!!!
souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1873262012-07-08T05:50:00-07:002012-07-08T05:50:00-07:00Still Workin' It!Still holding the 60+ loss. I am now at 60.6 pounds lost. I'm seriously looking forward to my goal of 100 pounds by February of next year. That gives me 7 months to lose about 40 pounds. At 1/2 - 1 pound a week thta should be possible. I may even make it before then. I have to be real careful next month because we will be going to a family reunion and then vacation for a week after that. I need to really plan so I can stay on plan. I know we'll be getting more exerc ise walking around the different places we visit, which will be great. It should help hold down the weight as long as I watch what I eat. I'm going to see if we can get an ice chest (maybe my daughter can bring one since she will be drivingthre) and we can get to a local store and get what I need to stay on plan. That is what our last meeting was about. How to go on vacation but still stay on plan. So here's lookin' at you - carrying less weight around.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1825392012-06-22T13:48:33-07:002012-06-22T13:48:33-07:00Made my next goal! Couldn't make my meeting last night because I didn't get home from work early enough. But I went to weigh in this morning. I finally reached my next goal of 60 pounds. Lost what I had gained last week plus some, I was so excited. Now my next goal is 75 pounds. I am hoping to lose 30 pounds by my birthday in February. Then I will be at the goal weight that Weight Watchers set for me. I am very excited abut the next few months to see how things go.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1795882012-06-17T03:35:00-07:002012-06-17T03:35:00-07:00Happy Father's DayI have been very lazy about posting to this blog and I promise I will try harder to keep everyone updated on my progress. Status since Memorial Day - 5/24 lost 1.4 pounds, 5/31 lost .6 pound, 6/7 lost .6 pound, and 6/14 gained 1.4 pounds. Don't know what happened last week, but I need to figure it out so it doesn't happen again. I'm still working hard to follow the points plus program and stay within my daily allowance, but sometimes even that does not work as we can see from last week's results. I guess I'm really gonna have to get into my Dancing With The Stars Workout since I really do like dancing and really don't like exercise. At least then it will be fun. I was watching one of those weight loss programs and I heard them saying that their muscles were burning and since I really don't like to exercise, I couldn't really relate to what they were saying. But I tried my Dancing With The Stars Workout and after about 10 minutes I understood what they were talking about. I think this will be my answer to "getting it moving" and getting my workout in. I will keep everyone updated on my progress. I'm really hoping this will be the answer for me.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1726432012-05-27T04:01:51-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00HAPPY MEMORIAL DAYToday is a day to remember all our soldiers who have fought for our freedom. A lot of us celebrate with barbeques and parties.

This can be a very difficult weekend if you're trying to lose weight. Just remember what is the most important thing in your life = food or health. We can combine the two if we use smart thinking and plan ahead.

Sorry I haven't posted for a couple of weeks but here is my success story for those two weeks. May 17th lost 1.4 more pounds. May 24th lost 1.4 more pounds again. Total weight loss to date is 58 pounds. Still looking forward to reaching my goal so I'm looking at losing at least 30-35 more pounds. At that poiint I can become a lifetime member of Weight Watchers.

And another thing I didn't share previously is one of the most exciting days of my journey. That was the day I was able to finally wear my wedding ring again. I hadn't been able to wear it for years because my fingers were just too fat. I love the fact that I can again wear my wedding ring. I love my husband very much and together we have made this journey. It really does help having someone to take the journey with you. If your spouse doesn't need to make the journey, find a friend. Someone you can be accountable to.

So for now, one final thought. Just keep your eyes upon the goal and HAPPY WEIGHT LOSS TO ALL OF YOU!souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1677652012-05-13T07:30:00-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:0010 month markWe'll on 4/19 I reached my 55.2 pounds lost after losing 2.2 pounds that week. The following week, I gained 1.2 pounds and was a little discouraged since I was still tracking my points and staying within the daily point allowance I was given. But I kept following the plan and lost .6 pounds the next week and the other .6 pounds last week so I am back to 55.2 pounds lost. This goes to show: do not get discouraged or embarrassed. Your body just sometimes does weird things but if you keep on track you will reach your goal. My main problem now, I know, is that I'm tired when I get home from work and have not really incorporated exercise in my program. I need to find something fun and fast that will work off the fat but also be fun. I think I'll get out the Dancing With The Stars videos I bought and try that. I like to dance, so that may be the answer for me. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. See y'all next week.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1646572012-05-05T13:09:58-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00catching upSorry I missed posting after last week's meeting. Maybe I "forgot" because I gained 1.2 pounds. Not too happy about that but I kept working the program and lost .6 pounds last Thursday so I'm back on track. The key is to not get discouraged and feel like you blew it. Sometimes maybe you're not moving enough or your body is just saying to you "Oh yeah! You think you're doing good - let me show you how good you are doing!" JUST IGNORE THAT LITTLE VOICE THAT IS TRYING TO TELL YOU THAT YOU CAN'T DO IT. At our last meeting we were supposed to have like a motto or positive phrase we use to keep going. One of the members said hers was "I KNOW I CAN!" - not I think I can, but I KNOW I can. I think mine is JUST KEEP ON KEEPIN' ON! If you continue to do the program and don't give up, you will accomplish your goal. I'm looking forward to next week and getting back off the rest of the .6 pound plus more. Need to get it moving.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1597722012-04-22T01:08:53-07:002022-05-22T20:56:06-07:00Still keeping on! Last Thursday weighed in and lost another 2.2 pounds. Total weight lost now is 55.2 pounds. Still trying to get the exercising going. Work is making me do more walking just because of the circumstances of us moving the company and we are short of staff in each location - so need to go out to the shop and walked more. PRAISE THE LORD! When I can't do it on my own, He helps me anyway.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1587832012-04-18T12:50:00-07:002012-04-18T12:50:00-07:00Help Me~Does anyone have ideas how to spur yourself on to do exercise when you are exhausted from work?? And then still have to make dinner and .............. I know you all know the evening routine after getting home from work. I'm still trying to get the exercise going on a regular basis. Fortunately I'm still losing weight each week after breaking through my plateau. I lost another 1.2 pounds last week. Any ideas, please post. Thanks everyone.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1549462012-04-05T12:26:00-07:002012-04-05T12:26:00-07:00STILL CARRYING ONWent to our meeting tonight. Great time. I lost another 1/2 pound. I'm up to a total of 51.8 pounds now. Still trying to get in the groove to move which is hard for all of us after a long day at work. I need to find an exercise that makes we want to move even when I'm tired. I've really got to get motivated. I'm still losing weight but it could probably be better if I'd exercise more. LORD, help me find the right exercise program for me.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1534582012-04-01T09:01:08-07:002012-04-01T09:01:08-07:00Keeping it going!Last Thursday's weigh in showed another 1.2 pounds gone. Need to keep exercising. It's hard though. Sometimes when you get home after a hard day at work, it's difficult to want to get out and exercise. I know we've all been there before. Need to keep positive and keep getting out there. Made it past my plateau thanks to God, but need to keep working the program too. Thank you Lord for giving me the strength and endurance to keep on going.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1516372012-03-26T12:30:05-07:002017-01-14T13:29:10-08:00EXERCISE?!?!?
Trying to get the exericse going. Not consistant, but trying. Brisk walk at moderate pace for 36 minutes. It felt good. Praying that I can keep this up. I need to do it so I can continue losing weight to reach my final goal. I am half way there now. Gotta keep going and not give up. I've come too far to turn back now. Thinking about joining a zumba class but not sure if it's too ambitious for this point in time. May check out one class before I decide.
souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1510822012-03-24T13:25:00-07:002012-03-24T13:25:00-07:00I MADE IT!!!Weighed in last Thursday and I made my goal of 50 pounds. Finally broke through my 4 week plateau. Starting walking so the exercise is probably what helped me get the weight loss going again. I am so happy. I will try to post some before and current pictures soon. I LOVE THIS PROGRAM! The meetings are very helpful and encouraging. Lots of ideas to help make things easier. Being signed up online is also very helpful. There are online communities and blogs and being able to track what you eat and let the computer keep track for you makes it easier for me. Others like to manually track everything on paper, so whatever works for you. Will be checking back in soon to let you know how things are going.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1488492012-03-17T03:43:19-07:002017-01-14T13:29:09-08:00working the programWell, for 4 weeks, staying at or close to the same weight. Need to lose 1.6 pounds. to reach my 50 pound goal. I am not discouraged, just confused. After our meeting Thursday we discussed plateaus and how to break through. I'm changing up my eating habits by eating more during the day and less at night and doing more exercise. Hopefully that will break the plateau and I will be on my way again. Looking forward to reaching my first goal of 50 pounds. Getting compliments from people noticing the weight loss are also encouraging me to continue on.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1471982012-03-11T16:02:34-07:002012-03-11T16:02:34-07:00Still looking at the goalHaven't reached the 50 pound mark yet but still working the program. Hit a plateau but as long as I don't lose faith and keep working at it, I know I will reach the goal. I have not given up. Need to just change things up a little. I know I can do it.souldirection1tag:souldirection1.com,2005:Post/1441012012-02-29T13:34:13-08:002017-01-14T13:29:09-08:00Looking forward to 50 pounds lostLast Thursday I was at 48.6 pounds lost. Hopefully tomorrow I will make my 50 pound goal. If not tomorrow, probably next week but hoping for tomorrow. Had someone give me some clothes. I didn't think they were going to fit because they were size 16 (and large). SURPRISE!! SURPRISE!! They fit. Last time I got new clothes they were size 26 (and 2x - 3x). I am very excited about this. Looking forward to getting to my goal and possible down to a size 10 or 12.
Weight Watchers has reminded me of things we all really know - if you eat too much you will gain weight and not lose it. They have reminded me to watch the quanitity as well as the quality of what we eat. So far I have been going to meetings since June 30, 2010 and have lost 40 pounds.
